Event Details:
The 22 mile trip via canoe/kayak on the Kennebec River will start from Augusta/Gardiner to Bath. Each paddler will be asked to elicit as many sponsors as they can for $1.00 or more a mile or a flat rate fee. All proceeds will be going to the relief effort in Louisiana and Mississippi. Our goal is to get 60 men, each raising $100 or more. Food will be provided for thanks to our sponsors and any fees are waived for this trip. This will be an Alcohol free and Drug free event. Please download an application sheet, sponsor letter and a sponsor sheet below. You can print the sheets and letter and mail or fax the the applications first three pages back to us at the address or fax noted on the application.
Itinerary:
Saturday June 17, 2006
6:00 AM Drop off vehicles at the Waterfront Park and take shuttle to Gardiner launch site.
7:00 AM Governor John Baldacci's send off at the Gardiner boat launch.
8:00 AM All watercrafts in water.
12:00 PM Lunch break the Sands Island.
4:00 - 5:00 PM Arrival at Swan Island campsite and or portage in Richmond boat launch for those on the one day event.
5:00 – 6:00 PM Set up camp.
6:00 PM Supper time.
9:00 PM Lights out.
